Our New Tractor is On the Way!
Manatee County Habitat for Humanity has hit the jackpot, and we’re not talking about winning the lottery. We’re talking about something even more fantastic – a brand new tractor!
The Bishop Parker Fund of the Manatee Community Foundation and The Jerome and Lillian Barnett Fund of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County have generously granted us a whopping $20,000 ($5,000 and $15,000 respectively), which will cover most of the cost of a brand-new John Deere tractor.
This isn’t just any ordinary tractor; for our construction team, it’s a game-changer. With this magnificent piece of machinery, we can generate more impact! In the past, we had to rent machinery or bring in outside contractors for parts of our projects. But with our new tractor, we’ll be faster, more efficient, and more cost-effective than ever before. And what does that mean? More safe, affordable homes for families right here in Manatee County!
These grants are our lucky charm, funding two-thirds of our tractor dreams. This incredible piece of equipment is going to revolutionize the way we build homes. In fact, we’re projecting to build 13 homes in 2024 – and you can bet this tractor is going to play a starring role in our construction success story.
We can’t thank the Manatee Community Foundation and the Community Foundation of Sarasota County enough for their unwavering support since 2004 and 2005, respectively. They’ve been our guiding stars, helping us make a lasting impact in our community, one home at a time.
