Poling Gardens
Poling Gardens, located in the West Samoset area of Bradenton, is Manatee Habitat’s current home development project. Construction of this community started in December 2022, and by mid-2025, all 16 houses in the community will be home to local families in need. These single-family homes will be sold to low-income homeowners with a zero-interest affordable mortgage.
Home Details
We are building 16 new homes: ten single-family houses and six shared-wall homes in three duplex buildings. All will be our familiar shotgun-style houses.
Construction Highlights
- Materials: Strong, energy-efficient ICF concrete block walls with excellent insulation (R-22).
- Roofing: Durable 5V galvalume metal roofs.
- Insulation: High-quality open-cell spray foam attic insulation (R-22).
- Exterior: Hardie fiber cement siding.
- Efficiency: Energy Star windows, appliances, lighting, and fans.
- Heating/Cooling: Mini-split heat pumps that bring in fresh air, improving indoor air quality.
These features ensure sturdy, energy-efficient homes with improved air quality, benefiting homeowners for years to come.
