In the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Manatee Habitat for Humanity extends heartfelt prayers and well wishes to all those affected. The journey to recovery is long, but together we stand strong with our community, committed to being a long-term solution for hurricane relief in Manatee County.
Over the past 10-15 years, we have made significant advancements in our construction techniques, ensuring that our homeowners are not only provided with affordable homes but also with structures that can withstand the intense storms frequent in our area. Our homes feature galvanized metal roofs, hurricane-impact windows, impact-resistant doors, and exterior walls made of 6 inches of solid concrete reinforced withrebar and 2.5 inches of Styrofoam.

As a testament to these robust building techniques, none of our recently constructed homes suffered any damage from the recent hurricanes. By placing homeowners in safe, storm-resistant houses, we minimize the need for hurricane recovery and shield our Habitat families from the devastation that often follows such natural disasters. In fact, our homes often serve as safe havens for our Habitat families and their neighbors during hurricanes.
With the frequency and intensity of major storms increasing in recent years, our commitment to providing safe homes for as many families as possible has never been stronger. Proactive hurricane relief means ensuring that vulnerable families are not left in substandard housing that cannot withstand the impacts of intense hurricanes.
When you donate to our housing projects, you are supporting proactive hurricane relief. Your contributions ensure that more families can live in safe, storm-resistant homes, reducing the need for recovery efforts and keeping our community resilient in the face of natural disasters.
Donate today to support our mission and make a lasting impact on hurricane relief in our community.
