As we enter the season of giving, we are excited to share our plans for Giving Tuesday! This special day, held on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, is dedicated to giving back to the community. Whether through donations or volunteer work, Giving Tuesday is a powerful way to make a difference.
This year, we’re focusing on our Advancing Black Homeownership (ABH) Initiative. Manatee County Habitat for Humanity is committed to closing the racial wealth gap through homeownership. One of our goals with the ABH initiative is to build a home for a Black family in need within our community. For Black families like Bernatta’s, a Manatee County school teacher and single mother of two, the journey to homeownership often involves overcoming additional systemic barriers. Our initiative aims to address these challenges and make the dream of homeownership a reality.
