The infrastructure is officially in at our newest 27-home community, King’s Cross Place (KCP). With construction on the first home beginning in January, our staff and volunteer crew leaders are ready to guide you as we take the first steps in building this new neighborhood. Make volunteering with Manatee Habitat your New Year’s resolution!

Over the past several weeks, our construction staff and dedicated volunteers have been participating in hands-on workshops to prepare for the KCP builds. Why? These homes feature a new design we haven’t built before, so this training ensures our teams are fully prepared before we arrive on site in January. That way, construction runs smoothly, and our leaders are ready to teach and support you every step of the way.

That’s right, you can join us in January to help begin construction on the very first home in King’s Cross Place. When we launched our previous community, Poling Gardens, volunteer support made an incredible impact. We saw a 93% increase in volunteer hours, helping us complete all 16 homes in just two and a half years. Now, we’re ready to do it again, with your help.

We have an ambitious construction schedule ahead, including starting a new home each month and following a four-month construction cycle per home. By the end of 2026, we expect 12 homes to be completed, with all 27 homes finished by early 2028.

No construction experience? No problem. Our staff and volunteer crew leaders will teach you everything you need to know. We’ll provide all the tools and safety equipment; you just bring a willingness to help build homes and hope for local families in need.

Join our volunteer family and build with us most Tuesdays through Saturday mornings starting in January. Our team will be ready to lead you as we break ground on our next community.

Sign up HERE today and help us build homes and hope at King’s Cross Place this January.
