Storm Safe Home Renewal Program

This Program is no longer being offered.

Manatee County Habitat for Humanity’s Storm Safe Home Renewal Program, a transformative initiative designed to strengthen and modernize homes for long-term resilience. The program provides critical repairs and upgrades for low-income homeowners, restoring weathered homes to a safer, more durable condition. By offering flexible, interest-free repair solutions, the program enhances storm and hurricane readiness, supports aging-in-place for seniors, and integrates green, sustainable building practices to create more efficient, environmentally conscious homes.

        • Restores safety, stability, and comfort through essential repairs
        • Enables aging-in-place for seniors
        • Integrates green, sustainable building practices for energy efficiency
        • Gives families a chance to remain in their homes long-term

Building Resilient Homes

Over the past 10–15 years, Manatee Habitat has significantly advanced construction techniques to build safer, stronger homes. Today, our homes feature:

  • Galvanized metal roofs

  • Hurricane-impact windows

  • Impact-resistant doors

  • 6-inch reinforced concrete walls with 2.5 inches of Styrofoam

Through this program, we extend many of these features to older Habitat homes and to qualified non-Habitat homeowners—ensuring that homes across our community can withstand the storms ahead.
