At Manatee County Habitat for Humanity, every home we build represents more than walls and a roof — it represents stability, opportunity, and a brighter future. Thanks to a generous $25,000 grant from Lowe’s, we are one step closer to making that future a reality for Princess, the future homeowner of our 2025 Advancing Black Homeownership (ABH) Home.
This exciting gift marks Lowe’s first corporate-level contribution to Manatee Habitat. While our local Lowe’s store has long been a champion of our mission — donating materials, sponsoring events, supporting the ReStore, and even supplying palettes of water for our volunteers — this gift takes their commitment to the next level.

And their support didn’t stop at writing a check. On July 12, 2025, the Lowe’s team joined us on the construction site, rolling up their sleeves to help raise the walls of Princess’s future home. Together with Habitat volunteers, they put their hands and hearts to work, bringing a powerful sense of community to the build.
This $25,000 donation brings the ABH House fundraising total to $83,807, fueling the momentum of the Advancing Black Homeownership Initiative, which works to expand access to affordable housing for Black families in Manatee County.
“Our partnership with Lowe’s is a testament to the power of collaboration,” said Kaveecia Moore, Director of Homeowner Services and leader of the ABH Initiative. “With Lowe’s support, we’re not just building houses — we’re building equity, stability, and a stronger future for families who have historically faced barriers to homeownership. Princess’s journey to homeownership is a milestone worth celebrating, and Lowe’s has played a pivotal role in making it possible.”
Launched to address racial disparities in homeownership rates, the ABH Initiative provides targeted outreach, education, and resources that empower Black families to achieve the dream of homeownership. With partners like Lowe’s, Manatee Habitat is ensuring that this dream is within reach for more families every year.
We are deeply grateful to Lowe’s for their partnership and for believing in this mission. Together, we are building more than homes — we are building hope, equity, and a stronger Manatee County for generations to come. Learn more about our ABH Initiative at manateehabitat.org/abh.
