We are thrilled to welcome two incredible new members to the Manatee Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors: Patrick Smith and Brian Prete. Each brings a wealth of experience, a heart for service, and a shared passion for creating affordable housing solutions in Manatee County.

Patrick Smith: Building Community Relationships Patrick Smith joins us as a Partner at Carr, Riggs & Ingram, a CPA firm, and brings with him a deep understanding of strategic financial planning. Patrick first learned about Manatee Habitat through colleagues in Bradenton, but his connection to Habitat for Humanity began years ago when he volunteered with the Broward County Habitat.

When asked what he’s most excited about in his new role, Patrick shared, “I’m most looking forward to building community relationships and seeing smiles on the faces of new homeowners.” He hopes to bring strategic thinking to Manatee Habitat, helping us get ahead of the rapid growth in Manatee County. His insights and financial expertise will be invaluable as we continue to expand our reach and impact.

Brian Prete: Passion for People and Progress Brian Prete, CEO of Premier Business Advisors, has dedicated his career to helping local business owners improve efficiency through AI, automation, workflows, and business accounting practices. His passion for affordable housing began long before his professional career.

Brian first volunteered with Habitat as a kid in New York City and Westchester, NY, and that early experience sparked a lifelong commitment to community service. After owning Empire Computer Services in Bradenton/Sarasota for over 20 years, Brian saw firsthand the housing challenges in our area. One story that stands out is helping one of his key employees build credit and secure a first-time homebuyer house, an experience that deepened his resolve to make a difference.

“The rising costs of rent, insurance, and living expenses put immense pressure on small businesses and their employees. That’s why I love programs like this — ones that tackle these challenges head-on and make a real difference in the lives of Manatee County residents,” Brian shared.

Brian hopes to leverage his extensive technology and business expertise to help Manatee Habitat use resources more efficiently and effectively. His ability to bridge the gap between complex technology and practical business needs will be a game-changer for our organization.

Looking Ahead We are incredibly fortunate to have Patrick and Brian join our board at such a pivotal time in Manatee County. Their combined skills, perspectives, and passion for affordable housing will help us move closer to our mission of building homes, communities, and hope.

Please join us in giving Patrick and Brian a warm welcome to the Manatee Habitat family. We can’t wait to see the positive impact they’ll make as we continue building a brighter future, one home at a time.
