A Journey Through Our Past

Manatee County Habitat for Humanity became an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) in 1994, after previously operating as Manasota Habitat for Humanity serving both Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Observing a unique need for affordable home ownership in Manatee County, Susie Walters, our inaugural President, led the way in creating Manatee Habitat. Dive into our rich history, including a heartfelt story from our very first homeowner.

Our Goals

To continue our mission, we’ve set two ambitious goals in honor of our 30th Anniversary :

  • Raise $3 million in 30 months.
  • Close on 30 homes in 30 months.

To achieve these goals, we need the help of our dedicated supporters. Together, we can make a difference through donations and volunteer efforts. Let’s build a brighter future, one home at a time.
