August 1st, 2024, marks a significant milestone for Manatee County Habitat for Humanity as we celebrate 30 years since becoming an independent affiliate. Before 1994, we operated alongside the Sarasota Habitat affiliate under the name Manasota Habitat for Humanity. Recognizing the unique needs of each county, we made the decision to separate and form two distinct affiliates. This move allowed us to better serve the communities within Manatee County, and from that moment on, we have been dedicated to building homes, communities, and hope.
To commemorate our 30 years of service, we are planning a year-long celebration from August 1st, 2024, to August 1st, 2025. Throughout the year, we will share stories from the early days of our founding, offering a glimpse into our journey and the people who made it possible. You’ll hear inspiring tales from our very first Manatee Habitat homeowner and our inaugural president, highlighting the passion and commitment that have driven our mission over the decades.
In honor of this special anniversary, we will be incorporating a unique 30th-anniversary logo into all our communications. Additionally, we invite you to save the date for a grand celebration: our 30th Anniversary Birthday Party, which be a family fun event that will take place on Saturday, February 8th, 2025.
