Kacha is a dedicated single mother of three adult children and a loving grandmother of four. Currently, she also serves as the caregiver for her 80-year-old mother. With a background as a former probation officer and now working as a substance abuse technician, she has always had a passion for helping others. Despite her commitment to her family and community, Kacha has faced challenges, including the inability to purchase a home for her family. Now, her dream is to provide a place where she can watch her grandchildren grow and care for her mother in their own home has come true.

For the past 10 years, Kacha has lived in a rental property with numerous maintenance issues that her landlord has refused to resolve. The deteriorating living conditions and the feeling of being trapped in the cycle of renting have left Kacha feeling overwhelmed. However, with the support of Manatee Habitat, homeownership is becoming a reality for Kacha and her family. This opportunity will not only provide her grandchildren with a yard to play in when they visit but also a safe and stable environment where she no longer has to worry about her mother’s safety on the stairs. After more than 30 years of dreaming, Manatee Habitat is helping Kacha achieve her lifelong dream of homeownership.
