Most people know Manatee County Habitat for Humanity as a builder of new homes, but we also bring new life to existing houses. Our Critical Home Repair Program is designed to improve the living conditions of low-income homeowners, ensuring that they have a safe and structurally sound home to thrive in. Each year we complete an average of 25 critical home repairs for Manatee County residents in need.

The Critical Home Repair Program is an initiative that focuses on essential home repairs and modifications for low-income homeowners who may be facing challenges due to age, disability, or financial constraints. We aim to enhance the safety, accessibility, and overall quality of life for individuals and families in need.

Our Critical Home Repair Program covers a range of essential services, including:

  • Roof Repairs and Replacements: Addressing leaks and structural damage to ensure a secure and dry living environment.
  • Accessibility Modifications: Installing ramps, handrails, and other adjustments to accommodate mobility challenges.
  • Interior Flooring: Transforming living spaces with floor replacement or repair service, offering durable and safe flooring.
  • Interior Doors: Upgrade or repair interior doors to enhance privacy and security.
  • Bathroom Upgrades: Renovating bathrooms to meet homeowner needs, making them more functional, accessible, and conducive to daily activities.
  • Exterior Doors and Windows: Repairing or replacing exterior doors and windows to improve energy efficiency, security, and curb appeal.
