Home Preservation Program

Most people know Manatee County Habitat for Humanity as a builder of new homes, but we also bring new life to existing houses through our Home Preservation program. Our preservation projects ensure families can remain and thrive in Manatee County for generations to come.

A Brush With Kindness

brush_with_kindnessA Brush With Kindness helps ensure families with limited financial resources are living in safe and secure homes. Often these families may include seniors, people with disabilities, veterans and single parents. We offer home repair services to homeowners so they can continue to live in safe, decent homes for years to come. Some of our home repair work includes painting, landscaping, weatherization and minor repair services to preserve home exteriors and revitalize neighborhoods.

We can help with:

  • Exterior Painting
  • Grab Bars/Wheelchair Ramps
  • Light Carpentry/Repair
  • Yard Clean-up, etc.

Who Qualifies?

  • Those who own & occupy a home in the City of Bradenton or Manatee County
  • Current on Property Taxes and Mortgage
  • Can meet income-based qualifying criteria

Critical Home Repair

critical-home-repairIn 2010 during the housing crisis, Manatee Habitat recognized that low-income homeowners were in distress and houses were in disrepair. Habitat began partnering with local municipalities to receive funds to provide repair services to existing homeowners who lacked the funds or ability to keep their homes healthy, safe or secure. Volunteers teams began to form to serve elderly, disabled and veteran homeowners in need of critical assistance. We currently partner with “Our Next Mission” for Veteran Owned Critical Home Repairs. Today, Manatee Habitat has three dedicated volunteer teams that complete more than 25 repair projects a year.
