Brittany Holley, Habitat Home Buyer for the Women Build signs the cornerstone ICF block of her house on May 6th to kickoff National Women Build Week.
The foundation is poured and the exterior walls have started to rise with ICF blocks! The Insulated Concrete Forms will be carefully cut and placed during the work days this week as many women join the effort during the 2017 National Women Build Week. Skilled women team leaders and first time volunteers will come together to build a new Habitat house alongside Habitat home buyer Brittany Holley.
The Women Build will continue over the next several months and there will be many opportunities for women to get involved, volunteer and advocate for decent affordable housing in their community. Starting construction during the National Women Build Week will hopefully attract media attention and more people who want to help will join the cause.
Brittany Holley shared at the International Women’s Day Luncheon on March 8th how becoming involved with Habitat transformed her life and her expectations. She is an eloquent speaker who spoke from her heart about her determination for reaching higher goals than she previously thought possible.
