Volunteers are the backbone of Manatee County Habitat for Humanity. Since 1994, the affiliate has been successful in building more than 100 sustainable and affordable homes thanks to the generosity of our volunteers who are the “hands and heart” in support of our mission.
Manatee Habitat has a variety of volunteer opportunities to match interest and availability. No prior construction experience is necessary. Volunteering is a great way to have fun and meet new people, learn a new skill and make a difference in the lives of children and families in our community.
Volunteer Opportunities Include:
Construction: Volunteers of all skill levels participate in a various phases of home building, rehab projects and neighborhood revitalization.
ReStore: Volunteers help in thrift stores with processing donations and sales assistance.
Administration: Volunteers help with office tasks such as answering phones, data entry and staff support. Volunteer also serve on committees, special event preparation, and outreach opportunities.
Groups: Manatee Habitat can accommodate groups of volunteers from churches, businesses, schools and other organizations.
Community Service: Volunteer opportunities are available to fulfill community services requirement but must first be approved by the Volunteer Coordinator.
