Bookkeeper - Part time

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Bookkeeper is responsible for assisting with the daily accounting functions, including but not limited to billing, payroll, posting receipts, preparing bank deposits, routine reconciliations and journal entries.  The Bookkeeper provides support to the financial operations while enthusiastically embracing and sharing MCHFH’s mission and supporting the achievement of its strategic goals and objectives.

  1. Process accounts payables.
  2. Prepare and submit Homeowner billing invoices and track aging account receivables.
  3. Process payroll and payroll taxes biweekly.
  4. Make and record daily deposits.
  5. Preform a combination of routine calculating, posting, verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records
  6. Follow all Habitat policies and procedures.
  7. Assist with any special projects or any other duties as may be needed or assigned by the Director of Finance or CEO.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 2 years current accounting and office management experience preferably in non-profit and/or real estate or construction. Able to pass a criminal and driving background check, a sexual offender check and a drug screen. Willing and able to work a flexible schedule, extended hours, and occasional weekends.

Director of Development

Manage, coordinate and oversee donor development and major fundraising for the affiliate while enthusiastically embracing and sharing MCHFH’s mission and supporting the achievement of its strategic goals and objectives by performing the following duties personally or through collaboration with CEO, staff, volunteers, or Board members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Lead fundraising efforts of the affiliate in alignment with its mission and guiding principles to achieve annual fundraising goals for affiliate’s strategic plan; establish short- and long-range goals for soliciting and acquiring funds; provide leadership in identifying new sources of revenue for organization.
  2. Responsible for stewarding existing individual and corporate donors and cultivating new donors in support of Habitat programs;
  3. Write and administer grant proposals; research public and private grant agencies; manage the implementation of Foundation Search program.
  4. Serve as staff liaison working with corporations, faith groups, community organizations to raise funds for home builds (ie, Women’s Build, Faith Build.)  Provide staff leadership and support for Resource Development committee.
  5. Work with Marketing Director to insure MCHFH’s visibility and promote the organization’s positive contributions and impact in the community; provide input into the creation of fundraising materials, content and tools for fundraising such as brochures, campaign materials, annual reports, social media etc.
  6. Manage the donor database system to track current and prospective donors; prepare or oversee the preparation of acknowledgment materials to send to donors. Provide development reports to the CEO and the Board to assist the organization in using data to enhance its fundraising activities and to facilitate the successful achievement of the affiliate’s financial goals.
  7. Serve as a spokesperson for the affiliate along with the CEO, Marketing Director and Board members. Make public presentations to business, civic, community, and religious groups and volunteer organizations to share the affiliate’s mission and solicit donations.
  8. Follow all Habitat policies and procedures.
  9. Assist with any special projects or any other duties as may be assigned by the CEO or the Board of Directors.
     

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor or Master’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, business, non-profit management or equivalent education and experience; minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success in a non- profit developing, managing and implementing a variety of fundraising strategies. Able to pass a criminal and driving background check, a sexual offender check and a drug screen. Willing and able to work a flexible schedule, extended hours, and occasional overtime and weekends as well as travel overnight as required.
 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills; good listening skills.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and have strong people skills.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented; able to anticipate tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Foundation Search or experience soliciting Foundations for funds.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and prior experience with Donor Perfect database software is preferred.
  • Creative energetic, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks.
  • Effective leadership and relationship building skills to work successfully with diverse constituents (staff, Board members, volunteers, donors, and the public at large).
  • Capable of understanding the big picture of the Habitat for Humanity ministry.

Driver/Mover Position

Manatee County Habitat for Humanity is rapidly expanding and we are looking for a DRIVER/MOVER position effective immediately.

Manatee County Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization helping families to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.  Habitat build houses and repair homes for qualified families with the help of community partners and volunteers.  The Habitat Restores (thrift stores) provide furniture, home accessories, building materials and appliances for sale to the public.

Driver/Mover Responsibilities:

  • Driving Company Truck to pick up donations from Manatee County residents
  • Moving/Packing/Unpacking daily donations
  • Delivering exceptional customer service to donors
  • Serving as a community ambassador for Habitat for Humanity

Driver/Mover Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year of driver experience
  • Experience delivering excellent customer service
  • Able to pass criminal background check, sexual offender check and Drug Screen
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Ability to lift/move up to 75 lbs and to work outdoors
  • Flexible to work weekends or holidays as needed.
